IR Beacon
The IR Beacon for the FTC Hot Shot game generates Infrared (IR) signals to assist in target alignment. The IR Beacon signals can be accurately detected with the HiTechnic IRSeeker sensor. For more details refer to the FTC Hot Shot Game Manual.
The IR Beacon is now available for everyone to purchase, not just registered FTC teams so now everyone can hav fun setting up the IR Beacon as a homing device or a marker that your robot can detect when playing a game or navigating a course. The IRBeacon transmits a 1200Hz square wave signal. The HiTechnic IRSeeker is "tuned" to receive this signal and filter out other interfering signals so your robot can determine the exact position of the beacon with minimal interference from sunlight and other light sources.
