World Village

All the people of the town were so excited. They had been chosen to host the next big games! There were stadiums and swimming pools to build, and a whole new village to create where the athletes would live. People from all over the world would be arriving by plane, train, bus and helicopter. The people would need to feel safe. The emergency services had to think about the big crowds and how to reach people quickly. So much to do – and so little time! Can you help the people of the town to get ready for the games?

Construct

Build some houses for the athletes to live in.
The athletes and visitors will need somewhere to eat. Build a café and restaurant.

Contemplate

The big games are an international event, so there will be all different types of food needed. Can you name some of them?
When people have been eating there is often a lot of rubbish. Make sure your village encourages people to keep it clean and recycle cans, glass and paper rubbish. How will you manage?

Continue

How will people find their way around the village? Make some signs that show the people where the different buildings are.
If there is an emergency, the emergency services may need to get in and out quickly – make sure your village is a safe place to be.
The opening ceremony is always a really special event. Organise the opening party with decorations and a spectacular light show!
