The Queens Chair

One fine day, the children at Wallberry Pre-School are told that they have been chosen to host a very special event. Her Majesty the Queen has decided to visit them to get to know more about life at a pre-school. The children have lots of things to think about and plan – including where the Queen will sit!

Construct

	Build a special chair that the Queen can actually sit on.
	Add armrests to the chair and build a place where the Queen can put her bouquet of flowers.
	It is important to ensure that the Queen knows the chair is hers. To do this, cut out a golden crown and fasten it to the back of the chair.

Contemplate

	Test the chair to make sure it is safe and stable.
	What does it mean to be a Queen? Why does she get to sit in such a special chair?
	What is the husband of a Queen normally called? What do you call her sons and daughters?

Continue

	Imagine that the Queen has to sit down for a long time. It would be nice if she had something to rest her legs on. Can you make a leg rest for her?
	The Queen might be cold when she arrives. Can you prepare a special cloak to keep her warm?
	Make some special instruments that you can use to announce Her Majesty’s arrival.
